I’ve been in the network marketing profession for over twenty five years and for the first seventeen years, I successfully failed in every single company I was part of. Ten of them, to be exact.

I spent more money than I made and after I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant with our third child, my husband Tim and I agreed I should quit and focus on “saving ourselves rich”.

At that same time, I was looking for a product to fix a problem I was experiencing in my life. I found a solution and was so excited—until I realized it was only sold through network marketing.

I’m a big fan of a good deal, so I signed up as a partner in order to get the best discount. I didn’t plan on working the business and I figured Tim couldn’t be mad if I sold enough to make my money back. Free product, basically!

Well, he was mad. Tim said he couldn’t believe I had gone and done it again, especially after we had agreed I’d quit. He told me that nobody would believe me because I’d already tried selling everything under the sun.  He even went so far as to say that he didn’t believe in me anymore.

Tim had always been my number one supporter. He had always believed in me, no matter what. He had made huge sacrifices over the course of our marriage so that I could pursue my dreams. I was shocked.

Then, I was mad.

I thought to myself, “Why can’t I make this work? Why can’t I be successful? If others can do it, why not me?” and so I said to him, “Even if nobody else believes in me, I believe in myself and I am going to make this work, if it’s the last thing I do.”

I got serious about myself and got committed to what I wanted to pursue. That change in my mindset caused me to work harder than ever—to prove Tim wrong—but more importantly, to prove to myself that I really could succeed.

At five months pregnant my doctor put me on bed-rest for health concerns. It was now or never–I lay on my couch and worked my business, doing as little physical activity as possible while still using my thumbs to text, call and message people on my phone.

I didn’t have the energy to look perfect for my team, so I started showing up in my bathrobe. I wanted the world to hear my message and I couldn’t let how I looked stop me from sharing it.

Turns out, moms all over resonated deeply with the bathrobe. They felt that if I could show up live in my bathrobe, they could make this work for them too. It was empowering and inspiring women all over to start their own at-home businesses.

Two and a half years later and I walked across the stage to join the Million Dollar Club. In Canada, I was the top income earner and the first person to reach the top of the compensation plan. I had done it!

I created the Million Dollar Bathrobe brand to help anyone in a network marketing business find success.
